**********************MORE INFO********************** Hello Lovelies, I've been away for a while but here is a treat for you until I am back in the states!!! This is only episode 1 of my trip to Tonga. It's been a GREAT experience coming back to my homeland and seeing the house I grew up in to the school that I attended. Everything here seems to be the way that I remember even the faces of the ones I love. They seem to never really age here as if I'm stepping into a time machine. I've enjoyed visiting our plantation that I used to run around freely in with my siblings. Swinging on vines pretending to be 'George of the Jungle' to feeding the pigs that we would later kill and eat. HAHAHA. These were the days! Days without social media, days where we didn't really talk back to our parents,...

More information about the video content bellow: 1. Tonga became known in the West as the Friendly Islands because of the congenial reception accorded to Captain James Cook on his first visit in 1773. He arrived at the time of the ʻinasi festival, the yearly donation of the First Fruits to the Tuʻi Tonga (the islands' paramount chief) and so received an invitation to the festivities. According to the writer William Mariner, the chiefs wanted to kill Cook during the gathering but could not agree on a plan. 2. The primary island, Tongatapu, has a number of tricks up its sleeve, such as the spectacular blowholes along the south western coastline. You’ll find four miles of coast with countless blowholes that can spout water 30 meters high. Go ahead and take bus from Nukualofa towards the village of Houma (Half an hour) and make sure to be there at high tide for any truly spectacular view. 3. The current royal dynasty of Tonga was founded in 1831 by Taufa’ahau Tupou, who took the name George I. He consolidated the kingdom by conquest and in 1875 granted a constitution. Tonga became independent on June 4, 1970. The government is largely controlled by the king, his nominees, and a small group of hereditary nobles. 4. Not much is known before European contact because of the lack of a writing system, but oral history has survived and been recorded after the arrival of the Europeans. By the 12th century, Tongans and the Tongan paramount chief, the Tuʻi Tonga, had a reputation across the central Pacific—from Niue, Samoa, Rotuma, Wallis & Futuna, New Caledonia to Tikopia—leading some historians to speak of a Tuʻi Tonga Empire. 5. Despite being a small country, Tonga has its own army. Furthermore, it participated in WWI, as part of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and in WWII. In recent times, Tongan soldiers were sent to Afghanistan and Iraq and participated in several peace keeping missions. 6. Located in Oceania, Tonga is an archipelago in the South Pacific Ocean, directly south of Samoa and about two-thirds of the way from Hawaii to New Zealand. Its 169 islands, 36 of them inhabited cover an 800-kilometre-long north-south line. The largest island, Tongatapu, is where the capital city of Nukuʻalofa is located. 7. The Free Wesleyan Church is the largest Methodist denomination in Tonga, and also the state church. Everyday life is heavily influenced by Polynesian traditions and especially by the Christian faith; for example, all commerce and entertainment activities cease on Sunday, from the beginning of the day at midnight, to the end of the day at midnight. The constitution declares the Sabbath sacred forever. Tonga Tourism Campaign branding "TRUE" Tonga for the Kingdom of Tonga and Sailing enthusiast world wide. Complete presentation with different :15 sec spots. "Picture the romance and beauty of the South Pacific combined with the relaxed sailing conditions it offers. It exists here, in a sailors' paradise like no other, in the idyllic island Kingdom of Tonga. It's a brilliant blue expanse where 170 islands glitter to create a cruising ground with line-of-sight sailing, spectacular snorkeling and soft, unspoiled beaches. These secluded islands are home to the most gentle and welcoming people on earth, a peaceful world known only to the world's most fortunate sailors. "The Friendly Islands" It was the honorary title offered by Captain Cook in 1777 and today's visitors are quick to agree. The warm welcome of these enchanting people is matched only by the appeal of the effortless cruising. Tongan feasts are famous throughout the Pacific, featuring up to 30 dishes and a torchlit celebration of dancing and singing. Once aboard your yacht, the welcome continues out to sea, thanks to predictable trade winds, crystal-clear waters and more than 50 anchorages all within an easy day's sail. Just below the surface of these perpetually calm waters, you'll find a colorful realm which invites you to don mask, snorkel and fins for the experience of a lifetime" ***THIS CONTENT IS OWNED BY SOUTHPACIFICSAILING*** (http://bit.ly/11ILUr5)

Days without social media, days where we didn't really talk back to our parents, days where we all lived in the same house... Now, we are all grown up but it was sooo good to come and relive some of those memories. From rollerblading in the rain with my siblings, eating the same food EVERY Sunday (UMU), making home videos, spending a lot of time with family, having family prayers every night before bed and so much more. All the things that cost absolutely nothing - THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE! Don't take things for granted and learn to be thankful each and EVERYDAY! Wake up each morning and write down a few things that you are thankful for. Focus on the positive... Until my next video, Lesieli

Keep the Adventures Coming! https://www.patreon.com/nahoa Tonga, the unexpected Oasis. When we set off this season, Tonga was on the list but it was heavily overshadowed by the likes of French Polynesia, Marquesas and the Cook Islands. The focus was on places like Bora Bora, Mo'orea and Aitutaki. So let me tell you, we were very surprised by how much we LOVE Tonga. LOVE! Tonga is a Sovereign nation and the first of such we have visited in our Pacific Island tour. It has a different vibe. An authentic one. With 196 islands, only 36 are inhabited. You can can catch a bit of island life or truly get away from it all. In this Adventure, we land in the Vava’u group in the town of Neiafu to check in with customs. The town is a bustling place with markets full of fish and veg. Crazy little Chinese shops stuffed with everything you could need. And a Moorings charter fleet that helps the economy sustain many friendly Yachty bars and restaurants. We were hooked right away and decided that this is where we would spend the last couple months of our season before heading south to get away from cyclone territory. The beauty of the Tongan Kingdom is stunning. The beaches are pristine and the people welcoming to their villages. Follow along as we test our limits while free diving in and around Mariner’s and Swallow’s Caves, skim the warm waters in some of the best kite boarding sessions we have had to date. Not to mention the creepiest of spiders with a weird golden web. The Kindom of Tonga holds a very special place in our heart.
